About Augustus H. Shaw, IV, Esq.

Augustus Shaw of Phoenix, Arizona, is an experienced attorney with an extensive background in complex real estate matters, non-profit corporation law, and community association law. He and his partner, Mark Lines, opened the firm Shaw & Lines, LLC in 2005 to represent community association clients in an advisory and advocacy capacity in all areas of assessment collection, enforcement, general litigation, document drafting and interpretation, and property taxation. Shaw & Lines specializes in all areas of community association law including assessment collection, enforcement, general litigation, document interpretation and coprorate governance. Augustus Shaw is a recognized leader in the field. He is a member of the Community Association Institute (CAI) College of Community Association Lawyers, which recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves through contributions to the practice and evolution of community association law and exemplary standards of professional and ethical conduct. Augustus Shaw teaches a series of seminars entitled the Community Association Law Lunch & Learn Lecture Series. Augustus Shaw is licensed to practice before the State Supreme Courts of both Arizona and Nebraska, the US District Courts of those states and the United States Tax Court. Over his career, he has held membership in the State Bar of Arizona’s Committee of Minorities & Women in the Law, the Board of Adjustment, Community Development Advisory Commission, and the Maricopa County Merit System Commission. He also served as Vice Chair for the City of Tempe Redevelopment Review Commission and Secretary for the Maricopa County Bar Foundation. He currently sits on the Board of The Leadership Center, of which he has been a member for nearly a decade. Mr. Shaw also is an active member of the City of Tempe Transportation Commission and First Vice Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party.
